I put the pro in procrastination

‘Inside the mind of a master procrastinator’ by Tim Urban is my favorite Ted Talk. Not even kidding. Straight to the heart relatable stuff. Go watch it if you haven't already. After spending hours on the internet, scrolling through social media, watching the most random youtube videos, replaying the same three songs over and over again, and spending an unacceptably large portion of the day binge watching some tv series - I go back to this masterpiece of a Ted talk to feel less miserable about not doing anything productive. Yes, I know, that's not the point of this ted talk, but hey you can't blame me for feeling a little better knowing that I'm not the only one wasting my time. You are wasting your time too, reading this stupid blog!

Anyways, it has been three months since the lockdown began, and never have I ever had so much free time in my life. I'm home all day, with no work, no exams and a huge scope for self improvement. I had thought about waking up at the perfect hour, working out, meditating, spending quality time with my family, reading books, learning new skills, doing some programming courses online and studying for GRE. Basically, I had a super long, dreamy list of things I wanted do to make most out of this quarantine, striking the perfect balance between academic progress and personal development. But I guess it goes without saying that all I've done until now is procrastinate. Well, I did finish one course, but that's peanuts compared to the amount of time I've wasted doing nothing. I  should totally be doing that online course I started last week and haven't touched in a couple of days right now instead of writing this, but whatever.

Hence after this tiny existential crisis, I've decided that maybe writing down my goals and noting how many of them I actually achieve could help me be a little more productive. It will make me feel more accountable for how I spend my time and umm... I can't really think of any other reasons - I guess I just enjoy writing!

Still unsure of blogging but let's do it cause why not?

So after a couple of unsuccessful attempts of writing a diary, here I am, hoping I'd do better at writing a blog. Diary writing is a daily commitment. I don't really have a valid excuse to say this, given that I quite literally have all the time in the world  (Its month 3 of this seemingly never-ending lockdown, need I say more?)  but writing every day feels burdensome. Hence the blog, I can keep coming back to it whenever I feel like without feeling bad about not being regular. Spoiler alert: I suck at being regular.
